The instrument list is the same across programmes on purpose: the difference between Instant, 1 Step and 2 Step should be the risk terms, not a narrower market. The caveat is that availability follows the market, and a symbol being listed is not a promise it is liquid at the moment you want it.
Trading rules
What you can trade,on every programme.
Forex, indices, commodities, metals and cryptocurrency instruments may be traded where they are available, on all three programmes. Leverage is up to 1:50 and can be lower on individual instruments. Availability and trading hours follow the underlying market, so the list is not the same thing as a guarantee that every symbol is open.
The rule
What can I trade?
Percentages are what the industry publishes. These are the same rules in dollars, worked on a $100,000 simulated account, so there is nothing left to convert.
- Forex
- Available
- Indices
- Available
Session hours rather than round the clock.
- Commodities and metals
- Available
Including gold.
- Cryptocurrency instruments
- Available
Where offered; leverage can be lower.
- Leverage
- Up to 1:50
A ceiling, varying by instrument.
- Minimum hold
- 2 minutes
The same on every instrument.
- Where to check
- Your account
The live instrument list belongs to your account. Desktop, web browser and mobile access is issued on purchase.
Plan applicability
Which programmesthis rule applies to
Our three programmes do not share one rulebook. This table is the part of the page to read before you buy.
- InstantApplies
Same instrument set
Against a 3% daily limit, so instrument volatility matters more here.
Why it exists
The reasoning,stated plainly
Worked example
The same rule,as a number
A $100,000 simulated account, because that is the size most people are deciding about.
Instrument choice against a $3,000 daily limit
A $100,000 Instant account, where the buffer is 3%.
- A major forex pair
- Tighter ranges
More positions fit inside the buffer.
- An index at a session open
- Wider ranges
One position can use a large share of the day.
- A cryptocurrency instrument
- Wider again
And often lower leverage, so margin binds sooner.
- Daily buffer
- $3,000
The same figure whichever you trade.
The limits do not adjust for instrument volatility, so position size has to. That is the whole of the instrument decision on a tight daily limit.
Commonly misread
What tradersget wrong here
Every item below has cost somebody an account. They are published for that reason rather than for completeness.
“Everything listed is always tradable”
Availability and hours follow the underlying market, and holidays close instruments.
“Leverage is the same on every instrument”
Up to 1:50 is a ceiling. Indices, metals and cryptocurrency instruments can carry less.

Related rules
The rulesthat sit next to this one
What leverage do I get?
Leverage is up to 1:50 on every GFN programme and can vary by instrument. Higher leverage does not change the daily loss limit or the drawdown.
When can I trade?
Trading hours follow the instrument and its liquidity, not a GFN schedule. Holidays move opens and closes, and the daily reset is set in the dashboard.
Is there a maximum lot size?
There is no single maximum lot size. Position size is bounded by leverage, margin and the risk limits - which is usually the tighter constraint of the two.
